Why we built TaraBase
It starts in your kitchen. You make something you're good at, and you love making it. Friends taste it and tell you, “You should sell this.” One evening, you decide they're right.
The first orders come in as messages. Then more messages: what's in it, is Saturday still open, can I collect at six. Each buyer pays and sends a screenshot, and you check every one against your bank. You reply, you thank them, and you count again. Somewhere in that first busy week, you notice you've spent more time as your own admin assistant than making the thing people asked for.
That's the moment we built TaraBase for. Your buyers order from your own shop, the count keeps itself, and each payment is checked for you. The hours go back to the making, and to the people you make it for.
And we stay with you as you grow: from your first pre-order day, to your first bazaar stall, to the week you sell out early. We take the counting, the chasing, and the checking. Not your buyers, not your name, and not a cut of your money.
Where the name comes from
TaraBase is short for Nusantara database. Nusantara is the island world of Southeast Asia: the region we come from, and the one we want to serve.
The database half comes from us: TaraBase is built by a founder with 12 years of experience in data.
What we chose not to build
- A marketplace. Your shop is yours, with its own link. Buyers come to you, not to a list of sellers.
- A wallet. We never hold your money. Buyers pay you, and you refund them yourself.
- An app your buyers must install. They use Telegram and PayNow, which they already have.
- Advice on what to charge. Your prices are your business.
Each of these would make TaraBase bigger. None would make your day easier.
Who we are
TaraBase is made by MusTech Group, a technology company registered in Singapore (UEN 202609163C). We build digital tools for communities and small businesses.
We build to the Amanah Digital Standards. Amanahis trust that has been placed in your care. For us, that means your money, your records, and your buyers' details are held as something entrusted to us, not as something we own.
What TaraBase is
TaraBase for home businessesgives a home baker, cook or small-batch maker their own Telegram shop. Buyers pick a day, order from what's being made, and pay by PayNow straight to the seller's bank. TaraBase keeps the count so a day can't be oversold, and checks the payment receipts.
TaraBase Live turns a phone or tablet into a PayNow counter for bazaars and pop-ups: tap in the sale, turn the screen round, and the customer scans a QR with the amount already in it.
What we hold to
- Your money is yours. Buyers pay you directly. We never hold it, and we take no cut of your sales.
- We don't guess about money. When a payment doesn't match, TaraBase says so and leaves the decision to you.
- Your records are yours. You can download them at any time, and 30 days after you close your shop, we delete them.
- We tell you what we keep. Our Privacy Policy lists it plainly.
- We don't tell you what to charge. Your prices are your business.

TaraBase is open to home businesses in Singapore. Everything you need to use it is inside the product: the help on every page of your dashboard answers what things mean, how to do them, and what to do next.
